Health Ministry van carrying trainee nurses ends up on its side in Ipoh crash, nine injured

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 23 — Nine people were injured when a Health Ministry van overturned and landed on its driver’s side in an accident along Jalan Sultan Iskandar near Little India in Ipoh this morning.

The van was carrying trainee nurses from the Health Ministry’s Sultan Azlan Shah Training Institute in Tanjung Rambutan, according to a report by the New Straits Times.

“All of them were travelling from the institute to the Buntong Health Clinic for their practical session,” said district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah.

He added that the 7.25am accident involved 11 people, including the driver.

Najib said police were investigating the cause of the accident.
