Abby Lee Miller and Cathy Nesbitt are ready to face off once again.
The former Dance Moms stars will reunite for Abby vs. Cathy: Hit the 8, a new shortform series debuting in October on ShortVydz, which touts itself as “a talent-forward new mobile-first streaming platform for shortform reality television.”
It’s one of two new shows debuting in October. The other, Crashing Out With Kail, goes behind the scenes with former 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom 2 reality star Kailyn Lowry as she embarks on her international Fatherless Behavior tour.
The shows unfold in “fast-paced” two-to-four-minute episodes that are designed for mobile viewing. Both shows debut Oct. 27 and will be available on ShortVydz.com and the ShortVydz app. They are the first original offerings for the new platform.
Abby vs. Cathy: Hit the 8 finds the two dance pros — they were seen as fierce rivals throughout the run of Dance Moms — on the same judging panel for the first time. They will be judging a dance competition against each other in a single-elimination bracket. A total of 128 dancers, ages 8 to 16, face off across seven rounds, with no host and no filter, just the panel and the verdict. One final dancer walks away with the title of winner and $10,000.
Crashing Out With Kail follows the reality star on her tour and promises to feature hotel room chaos, green room tension, business decisions made on the fly and a relationship playing out in real time while seven kids wait at home. Each stop on the tour plays as its own story.
