KUALA LUMPUR, March 10 — An 84-year-old woman died after the car she was driving plunged into a river in Batu Kikir in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, this morning.
Jempol district police chief Norhisham Mustapar said the incident occurred at about 10.45am.
According to a report published in Harian Metro, he said the elderly woman was driving a Perodua Myvi and was on her way home after delivering items to a shop.
“As she was passing a bend, the victim lost control of the vehicle and it plunged into the river.
“As a result of the incident, the victim died at the scene due to severe head injuries,” he said in a statement today.
Norhisham said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
He added that police are urging witnesses to come forward to assist with the investigation.
