Who needs a little sci-fi right about now?
Something that you have to learn to live with when you're a sci-fi lover is the people in your life who don't get it. It seems like you're either a person who loves and appreciates sci-fi and other nerdy types of activities (nerdy said with love), or you're not. Maybe you're around people who just start to tune out when you talk about Star Wars or Star Trek or Stranger Things or whatever else is on your mind at the moment. Maybe they love you and appreciate you as a person, but they just don't share your interests. This can be disheartening to be around as a sci-fi fan. Because when you love something, you can't imagine that somebody else doesn't love it as much as you do. Sure, we all know that we have different tastes, but some things are so universally good that we don't get it when other people aren't immediately on board.
It might even be a person very close to you who yuck your yum whenever you want to watch the new episode of Andor. But you've been around the block long enough to know that you don't have to rely on these people to love what you love. You don't need somebody to watch the new episode of Andor with you, because you're happy to watch it by yourself. Then you can turn to the Internet, which is full of people who feel just as passionate about it as you do.
