Pure Aura Girl is a series of memes and video edits based on a clip of IShowSpeed asking a Chinese girl if she knows his name and she answers, "Darren Watkins Jr.," then poses with a shrug. The clip first became the subject of edits in early April 2025, nearing the end of IShowSpeed's trip to China. It resurfaced as the further subject of edits, including an edit that describes her pose as "pure aura," in 2026, going viral on TikTok.

Origin

Between late March and early April 2025, streamer IShowSpeed hosted a series of IRL streams from China. During one stream, while meeting and taking pictures with fans, he tests one girl's knowledge by asking if she knows his name. She answers correctly, "Darren Watkins Jr." IShowSpeed makes an impressed expression, the camera turns to her and she shrugs.

The earliest known edit of the clip was posted by YouTuber SpeedNaldo7 on April 6th, 2025, garneirng over 70 million views in a year.

On March 4th, 2026, TikToker @deagzzzshorts.yt posted an edit of the same clip where a crown is placed on her head and the words "pure aura" appear underneath the girl as she shrugs, garnering over 843,000 views in two months. The video was also posted to the user's YouTube channel to over 22 million views in the same span of time.

The edit by @deagzzzshorts.yt inspired a wave of memes based on the edit, including further edits and brainrot memes.

On April 26th, 2026, TikToker @shiesty882 posted a video that starts with the "pure aura" edit, then shows several brainrot memes edited in the same way, garnering over 1.1 million views in five days.

On April 29th, TikToker @nethemes posted an accuracy reenactment of the edit featuring the same style of editing, garnering over 4 million views in two days.
