Fremantle has appointed ex-Banijay executive Sharon Levy as CEO of Fremantle Americas & Australia, effective in mid January 2027.
Levy will report to Fremantle Group CEO Jennifer Mullin and oversee the company’s production operations in the U.S., Mexico and Australia. She will also join Fremantle’s Global Leadership Team.
Based in Fremantle’s Los Angeles offices, Levy will oversee the company’s production labels, customer relationships, talent partnerships, creative development and production slate across the three markets, as well as its portfolio of intellectual property. The role includes regional responsibilities previously held by Mullin and is part of Fremantle’s broader global growth strategy.
Levy joins Fremantle from Banijay, where she has served as CEO of Endemol Shine North America. During her tenure, she oversaw a portfolio that included established franchises such as MasterChef and LEGO Masters, as well as Deal or No Deal Island, The Summit and Fear Factor: House of Fear. The company also expanded its scripted slate under Levy with the series Ripley and HBO Max international co-production Like Water for Chocolate.
Levy also launched Banijay Launch, an international accelerator program for creators spanning more than 30 territories.
Before joining Endemol Shine North America, Levy was executive vice president of original series at Spike TV, where she oversaw the acquisition, development and production of scripted, unscripted and documentary programming including Ink Master, Bar Rescue, Auction Hunters and Deadliest Warrior.
Levy is a Peabody Award recipient and Emmy-nominated producer and was previously named to The Hollywood Reporter’s Most Powerful Producers in Unscripted TV list.
“Sharon is an exceptional executive with a proven ability to build businesses, develop talent and deliver outstanding content,” Mullin said. “I am thrilled to welcome her to Fremantle and our Global Leadership Team. Her experience, leadership and entrepreneurial mindset make her the ideal person to lead our businesses across the Americas and Australia as we continue to accelerate our growth ambitions.”
