Robert Pattinson Says ‘The Batman: Part II’ Is “a Different Take on a Batman Movie”: “So Ambitious”

Robert Pattinson is teasing the differences between 2022’s The Batman and the upcoming 2027 sequel.

The actor told Collider that The Batman: Part II is “a real left turn from the first” movie, teasing that he’s excited to see how the sequel turns out.

“It’s so ambitious,” he said. “I mean, I sort of said the other day on something that the first one was a different take on a Batman movie, and this one is another… It’s a real left turn from the first one, but somehow it keeps elements of the kind of feel of it. But it just feels really ambitious, and I’m excited to see how it turns out.”

Pattinson is currently filming The Batman: Part II, amid his jam-packed 2026 release schedule. This year alone, he’s already starred in The Drama and The Odyssey. Primetime, where he portrays To Catch a Predator’s Chris Hansen, will release on Friday, as his final project of the year, Dune: Part Three, comes out on Dec. 18. He’s also a new father, as he and Suki Waterhouse welcomed their first child in 2024.

However, despite a very busy schedule, the Twilight star said at the Venice Film Festival that he would have been “devastated to have dropped any of” the projects he’s starred in this year.

Directed by Matt Reeves, Pattinson is returning to play Bruce Wayne in The Batman: Part II alongside a star-studded cast. Scarlett Johansson has joined the franchise as a new addition, alongside fellow Marvel alum Sebastian Stan. Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, Jayme Lawson, Gil Perez-Abraham, Sebastian Koch and Brian Tyree Henry will also star.

The sequel will release next year, on Oct. 1, 2027.
