If you ask me, working from home, especially in a different time zone, is a lot harder than working from an office. Sure, you get to skip the commute, and sometimes work from the comfort of your bed, but fully working from home requires a level of focus and discipline many of us do not possess.
It is clear that this employee does have the discipline and devotion for her job, since she is able to say ‘no’ to social outings during the hours she is supposed to be working. And instead of supporting her, her partner is doing the exact opposite by diminishing the importance of her job.
So it made perfect sense that this employee felt the need to teach her partner a lesson that would stop him from ever disrespecting her job.
People tend to only appreciate what they have after they lose it, and this case is no different. The employee had to take her job and contribution away from her partner to prove to him just how important it is.
It doesn't matter what she does or how she does it; he should have been supportive and accepting. The question is, after proving this point, will he actually be supportive, or will he forget about his actions in a matter of days?
The things we would do to prove a point to our significant others…
