NBC’s ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ Partner Ancestry.com Drops DNA Kit Prices for Labor Day

Ancestry is hoping to win over prospective family history tracers with its 2026 Labor Day Deals. The genealogy company is offering up to 78 percent off its AncestryDNA kits, giving customers a chance to explore where they come from for less.

Fans of Finding Your Roots and Who Do You Think You Are? have watched stars like Viola Davis, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lisa Kudrow and Kerry Washington uncover remarkable stories from their past, like what corners of the world their ancestors hailed from. With these Labor Day deals, you too can learn about the origins of your family as well as your unique DNA story by joining a network of over 25 million people.

AncestryDNA uses a simple saliva sample alongside genetic science and its consumer DNA database to estimate where in the world you originate from. The standard kit is a one-time purchase, while memberships are separate subscriptions. Depending on the bundle, a membership can add access to historical records, DNA features and more.

These deep discounts puts AncestryDNA among the more notable DNA-testing deals available this Labor Day. The sale runs Aug. 26 through Sept. 8 at 10 a.m. ET.

The test provides an origins report covering more than 3,600 places, connections to genetic relatives and updated regional information, including 68 new and updated regions across Europe, Canada and the North Atlantic plus 63 African ethnic groups. The kit itself is a one-time purchase. A separate Ancestry membership is not required to take the test, although some DNA features require a subscription.

Along with the kit’s origins report and DNA matches, World Explorer provides access to Ancestry’s international record collection, plus DNA by parent, match relationship tools and 100-plus DNA Traits.

The All Access bundle goes further than World Explorer by adding military records through Fold3, newspaper and photo collections through Newspapers.com and the ability to share the plan with up to four additional accounts. It also includes the AncestryDNA features, DNA by parent and 100-plus DNA Traits. The membership is a subscription that automatically renews every three months unless canceled.
