Is it okay for a mother and a daughter to wear the same dress?

Fashion is important, especially at a wedding. The dress is sort of the focal point of the evening, whether you like it or not. And in this story from the AITAH subreddit, a mom got the same dress as her daughter, which the daughter did not appreciate. The dress is what everyone is there to see, even more than to celebrate your journey as a couple or the joining of families. If something is wrong with the dress, if the bride isn't happy with it in some way, then there is a huge problem. You may think I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. If you're having a big wedding and inviting a lot of people, you need that dress to be right. If there is something weird about it, it might knock the whole thing off balance.

If you showed up to a wedding and someone else was wearing the dress you wore to yours? And what if that person was your mother? It's natural to be a little territorial about your wedding dress. You probably put a lot of time into choosing it, and you want to feel like it's yours. Sure, there are only so many dresses in the world, but you should get to lay claim to your wedding dress, especially in your own family. That's not what happened here, though, when a mom picked out the same dress as her daughter.
