Who doesn't want a little science fiction in their life? 

We're in the thick of it, folks. We're in the thick of life. I mean, in a way, we always are because the days just keep on coming and those days turn into weeks and those weeks turn into months and those months turn into years. But there is something about March that feels particularly in the middle. It's not quite warm, not quite cold. No huge holidays to anchor ourselves to. We're floating about in mid-air, doing whatever it is we usually do. There can be a sense of peace to this. It's a good time to get into a routine. Nothing will come along to pluck you out of it. But this can also be a time that feels mundane. Like we're in the trenches, and we want to be lifted out of it. That's where memes come in. 

We all need things that are going to shake things up for us. We need little outlets of fun that remind us who we really are and what we really enjoy. We need little blips in the landscape that pluck us out of the everyday and throw us into something wonderful. Science fiction does a great job of this. It takes us out of ourselves and takes us into a fantastical world where everything is different. Maybe the struggles and the conflicts and the characters are familiar, but the window dressing of it is vastly different from anything we could imagine.
