Leslie Bibb Sorority Dark Comedy ‘The Rush Whisperer’ in Development at HBO

It’s Rush Week somewhere.

A Leslie Bibb dark-comedy series The Rush Whisperer is in development at HBO, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Bibb (The White Lotus, Hacks) will executive produce and star in the series set in “the cutthroat world of sorority recruitment.”

The Rush Whisperer is based on New York Magazine article “How Much Would You Pay for Friendship? Private Rush Coaches are Selling Teens the Sorority Dream” by Grey Battle, who is consulting producer. You can probably figure out who Bibb plays.

Kelly Hutchinson (Dead to Me, Palm Royale) will co-write and executive produce along with Grace Parra (Star Trek: Lower Decks, Solar Opposites). Kristen Campo and Daniel Simon executive produce for Campout Productions; Scoop Wasserstein executive produces for New York Magazine/Vox Media Studios.

Bibb was recently Emmy-nominated for her performance as Monica in the fifth and final season of Hacks; she starred on the most recent version of The White Lotus as Carrie Coon’s stuck up friend. If you do not know her from either of those HBO/Max shows, you almost certainly will remember her as Will Ferrell’s wife in 2006 comedy film Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Bibb will soon star in Brett Goldstein’s upcoming romantic comedy series Escorted for Amazon Prime Video.
