Hulu is headed to the Rocky Mountains with its next series.

The Disney-owned streamer has picked up a drama called Durango to series. The show from Y: The Last Man’s Eliza Clark, for which Hulu ordered a pilot in March, stars Cooper Hoffman and Kathryn Newton as a young couple “riding an avalanche of bad decisions,” as the show’s logline puts it. Emmy winner Merritt Wever (Primetime), Mason Gooding (Scream 7) and Abbey Lee (Black Rabbit) will also star.

Durango, which Hulu began developing last year, is a co-production between 20th Television and Media Res. Clark wrot the pilot and will serve as showrunner. She executive produces with Michael Ellenberg and Christina Malach for Media Res and The Bear creator Chris Storer, Josh Senior and Tyson Bidner for their American Light & Fixture company. Jesse Peretz (FX’s Love Story) directed and exec produced the pilot.

Here’s the full description for Durango: “Mikey (Hoffman, Artificial) is a ski bum townie chasing a buzz. Bunny (Newton, Big Little Lies) is a homeschooled runaway working as a greasy-spoon waitress. Together they’re riding an avalanche of bad decisions and falling in love while running from cops, criminals, and Mikey’s wife in pursuit of their own American dream.”

Wever and Gooding will play local detectives — a 20-year veteran and a relatively new hire, respectively — who find themselves on a more involved case than they’re used to working. Lee will play Mikey’s Russian wife, Irina, who is hoping to gain U.S. citizenship.

The series will join a lineup of Hulu original dramas that also includes The Testaments, Paradise, Furious, Good American Family and the upcoming The Land. The streamer is also home to a number of FX-produced series.

Clark is repped by WME; Hoffman, by WME; Newton, by WME, Entertainment 360 and Hansen Jacobson; Wever, by Innovative Artists, Viking Entertainment and attorney Jeff Bernstein; Gooding, by CAA, Untitled and Sloane Offer; Lee, by United Management Australia, CAA, The B-Side UK, Next Management and Kirrilly Sams; and Peretz, by UTA and Lighthouse.
