“Heated Rivalry” Season 2 is continuing to build out its cast with the addition of six new actors.
The highly-anticipated second season of the Crave-HBO Max series has added: Brendan Morgan (“F*** Marry Kill,” “The Handmaid’s Tale”) as Zane Boodram, David Tomlinson (“Fellow Travelers,” “Silent Night”) as Cody Kent (Dallas Kent in the books), Gerry Dee (“Mr. D,” “Animal Control”) as Coach Cooper, Michelle Mylett (“Letterkenny,” “El Camino Christmas”) as Lisa, Lauren Chan (“The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “Canada’s Drag Race”) as Gen, and Nick Stahl (“Let the Right One In,” “Terminator 3″) as Curtis Barrett.
The castings reunite “Heated Rivalry” creator Jacob Tierney with Dee, Mylett, and Stahl. Tierney previously directed Dee in the CBC sitcom “Mr. D,” while he and Mylett co-starred in the popular Crave series “Letterkenny,” which Tierney also co-created, directed, and executive produced. Stahl starred in the 2003 movie “Twist,” which was written and directed by Tierney.
Morgan is repped by The ART Agency and Thruline Entertainment. Tomlinson is repped by Glickman Alexander Talent Management & Play Management. Dee is repped by Connekt Creative. Mylett is repped by The Arthur Agency and Link Entertainment. Chan is repped by P1M, JAG Models, INSURGE-Ent, align PR and Yorn Levine. Stahl is repped by LINK Entertainment, Artium Talent and attorney Blake Zurbuchen.
The hit series is based on the “Game Changers” books by Rachel Reid. Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie will return in the lead roles. The cast of Season 2 will also include: Justice Smith, Charlie Gillespie, Daniel Diemer, Shaheen Jafargholi, Robert Naylor, Sophie Nélisse, Ksenia Daniela Kharlamova, Edvin Ryding, François Arnaud, Christina Chang, Dylan Walsh, Robbie G.K., Callan Potter, Benjamin Roy, Kamilla Kowal, Emily Hampshire, Sabrina Jalees, Priyanka, Kevin Zegers, Paul Gross and Milla Jovovich.
Season 2 will premiere in the spring of 2027 on HBO Max. The official logline for Season 1 states, “Rival hockey players Shane Hollander (Williams) and Ilya Rozanov (Storrie) are bound by ambition, rivalry, and a magnetic pull neither of them fully understood. What began as a secret fling between two fresh-faced rookies evolved into a years-long journey of love, denial, and self-discovery.”
The series is commissioned by Bell Media’s Crave with the participation of the Canada Media Fund (CMF). Tierney serves as writer, director, and executive producer. Brendan Brady and Jayme Alter Wilson also executive produce. Lori Fischburg and Liane Cunje are producers, with Reid as consulting producer. Mike Goldbach serves as co-writer on Season 2. The series is distributed internationally by Sphere Abacus, a Bell Media company. The series is produced by Accent Aigu Entertainment in association with Crave.
