‘Hacks’ Complete Five-Season Blu-ray Box Set to Go on Sale This Holiday Season (EXCLUSIVE)

Here’s something the Little Debbie in your life might want to add to their Christmas gift guide: All five seasons of “Hacks” are about to be packaged in a complete series Blu-ray box set.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has revealed plans to sell “Hacks: The Complete Series” as a Blu-ray collection. The set, set to go on sale sometime this fall (in time for the holidays) will include never-before-seen bonus features, but Universal has not yet shared what those exclusives might be. (Universal said it will share “additional updates” at a later date.)

Previously, individual seasons of “Hacks” have been available for sale on discs, but this is the first time the entire series has been sold as a package — now that the Emmy-winning series has completed its run.

“We are so excited the complete series will be available on Blu-ray,” “Hacks” creators, showrunners and executive producers Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello and Jen Statsky said in a joint statement. “Deborah Vance knew the power of physical media when she sold her special on QVC, so we know she’d be proud. It will also include bloopers and deleted scenes! We hope one day in the distant future children will huddle up in their bunkers and take their minds off the robot wars by laughing and crying at this powerful tale of dark mentorship and female creative collaboration.”

The news of the “Hacks” box set comes as voting wraps Wednesday in Phase 2 of this year’s Primetime Emmys. The show’s fifth and final season made Emmy history by scoring the most nominations for a TV comedy ever — 24 (plus one more for the digital/short-form series “Hacks: Bit by Bit”). Its noms this year include Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series and Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series, as well as noms for stars including Jean Smart, Hannah Einbinder, Paul W. Downs and Megan Stalter.

Over the years, “Hacks” won 12 Emmys, including the outstanding comedy series trophy in 2024, and a total of 86 nominations. Last year, its wins included lead comedy actress (Jean Smart), supporting comedy actress (Hannah Einbinder) and comedy guest actress (Julianne Nicholson).

Smart has won four Emmys already, for every season the show has been on the air. A fifth win would give her a series sweep, and also her eighth career Emmy — tying her with Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Cloris Leachman for the second-most acting Emmys won by a female performer.

Besides Smart, Einbinder, Downs and Stalter, the show also stars Carl Clemons-Hopkins (a previous Emmy nominee for the show), Mark Indelicato and Rose Abdoo.

“Hacks” is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Morgan Sackett, Joe Mande, Aisha Muharrar, Nate Young and Ashley Glazier. Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio on the series.
