Netflix is streaming a final interview with Gloria Steinem as part of its Famous Last Words series.
The interview, recorded with series creator and executive producer Brad Falchuk in February 2025, features Steinem looking back on her life and work as a leader in the feminist movement, founder of Ms. magazine and author. Steinem died Wednesday at age 92 at her home in New York.
Famous Last Words is a long-form interview show, with the subjects agreeing that the interview won’t be released until after their death. Previous episodes have featured Jane Goodall and Eric Dane.
“Gloria Steinem was the steady heartbeat of a revolution, but in this room, she was a woman reflecting on the simple, profound beauty of human connection,” Falchuk said in a statement. “She spoke about the intersection of race, gender, and peace with a wisdom that only comes from a lifetime on the front lines. Even in her final moments, she was organizing us, challenging us to keep moving forward. It is an extraordinary privilege to share her final thoughts with the world.”
Steinem began her career as a journalist, earning renown for a 1963 story in which she went undercover at a Playboy Club working as a bunny. She co-founded the National Women’s Political Caucus in 1971 and co-founded Ms. the following year, leading the first mainstream magazine with an expressly feminist point of view. She continued to advocate for women’s rights and other causes throughout her life.
Famous Last Words is based on a Danish series, Det Sidste Ord (which translates to “The Last Word”). Falchuk and Mikkel Bondesen executive produce via Brad Falchuk Teley-Vision along with Banijay Etnertainment’s BSNA, David Goldberg and showrunner David Friedman.
