As HBO prepares to bring audiences back to Hogwarts this Christmas, Funko is getting in on the magic with a new collection of “Harry Potter” mystery figures, including a chance to uncover an ultra-rare collectible.

The new “Harry Potter” POP! Mystery collection features six characters from the original film series: Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, Luna Lovegood and twins Fred and George Weasley. Each four-inch vinyl figure comes in blind-box packaging, meaning buyers won’t know which character they’ve received until they open it. Each box also includes a corresponding collectible POP! card.

Priced at $14.99 each, the figures have equal one-in-six odds of appearing in a standard box. Collectors also have a one-in-72 chance of discovering a special Mystery Chase figure, with an even rarer one-of-one Worldwide Chase potentially hidden in the collection.

The release is part of Funko’s recently introduced POP! Mystery line, which taps into the growing popularity of blind-box collectibles. Previous collections have featured characters from “KPop Demon Hunters,” “One Piece” and Warner Bros. horror franchises. Funko has also introduced a buyback program for eligible one-of-one figures, offering collectors $10,000 in exchange for verified rare finds.

The latest “Harry Potter” merchandise arrives ahead of HBO’s highly anticipated television adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s bestselling book series, which is scheduled to premiere Dec. 25 on HBO and HBO Max.

The new series will introduce a fresh generation of Hogwarts students, led by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The cast also includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape and Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid.

The first season will adapt “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” with Francesca Gardiner serving as showrunner and executive producer and Mark Mylod directing multiple episodes. HBO is already developing a second season based on “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets,” with Kit Harington recently announced as Gilderoy Lockhart.

The HBO adaptation marks the franchise’s first major live-action television retelling, more than two decades after Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint first brought the central trio to the big screen. The original eight-film franchise, released between 2001 and 2011, remains one of the highest-grossing film series of all time.

Funko’s new “Harry Potter” POP! Mystery figures are priced at $14.99 per box.
