‘Elsbeth’ Season 4 Adds Uzo Aduba, Tyne Daly and Christine Ebersole (EXCLUSIVE)

“Elsbeth” has added Uzo Aduba, Tyne Daly and Christine Ebersole to the Season 4 cast. Ebersole will have a recurring role as Elsbeth’s mother in the CBS crime drama, while Aduba and Daly will each guest star.

The fourth season of the spinoff based on “The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight” will premiere on CBS on Thursday, Oct. 8, with successive episodes each week.

Playing the mother of the de facto detective at the center of the series, Ebersole’s character can charm anyone except her own daughter. The actress has won two Tony Awards and has appeared in “Is This Thing On?,” “Bob Hearts Abishola,” “Licorice Pizza” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.”

Aduba will play Allegra Miller, a proud New Yorker fighting developers to keep her home and change her life forever. Aduba is best known for playing Suzanne “Crazy Eyes” Warren on “Orange Is the New Black,” a role for which she won two Emmy awards. She also won an Emmy for playing Shirley Chisholm in “Mrs. America” and has starred in “The Residence,” Netflix’s limited series “Painkiller,” Pixar’s “Lightyear” and more.

Daly will play Helen Adler, a dedicated birder who’s not afraid to ruffle feathers when her flock is threatened. She is a six-time Emmy Award winner, a Tony winner and an American Theatre Hall of Fame inductee best known on television for her work as Detective Mary Beth Lacey in the CBS series “Cagney and Lacey.”

Of course, Carrie Preston returns as Elsbeth, playing the brilliant and unconventional attorney who works with the NYPD to track down New York’s most entitled murderers.
