The post was made in April 2022 and went viral over the following years as people continued to use the expression online.

On April 15th, 2022, X / Twitter user @lilavyvert purportedly posted, "My homie hung up on his girl yesterday bc she 'wasn't talking bout nothing I wanna hear' that shit was so gangsta." The post has since been deleted.
Later that day, now-suspended X user @RubbaBG_ posted a screenshot of the tweet, writing, "That got bro pussy wet." X user @lilavyvert replied by posting, "Y’all help me report that page."

The catchphrase continued to spread over the following months and years as it saw additional usage in similar contexts on social media.
On May 1st, 2022, X user @DannyRohan10 posted, "that got bro pussy wet," over a screenshot of a Ben Shapiro tweet in which he calls Elon Musk "the best," garnering over 229,000 likes in four years.
On May 28th, 2023, the original tweet was reposted to iFunny, gaining over 4,200 smiles in three years.
On May 15th, 2025, Instagram user vuxsal reposted a screenshot of the interaction between @lilavyvert and @RubbaBG_, gaining over 14,000 likes in a year.
On April 26th, 2026, X user @SEVEREDHELLY posted a clip from Daredevil of Daredevil choking another character, writing, "That got bro pussy wet," gaining over 7.200 likes in a month.

On May 15th, X user @cybersnitch posted the phrase in response to a tweet by @NBAPaint1, reading, "3 albums spelling out HIM is cold," referencing Drake releasing three albums in one day, garnering over 258,000 likes in three days.
On May 16th, 2026, X user @sammichluvrrr posted, "I bet straight men are terrified of another 'that got bro pussy wet' happening to them," garnering over 96,000 likes in two days.
