Aunt books family vacation without telling anyone, niece frets about cancelling for a work trip: 'Each family unit owes $310'

One young woman was put in an awkward situation when her aunt and cousins booked the annual family summer vacation without consulting anybody else first. She only learned of it when they put all of the details in the family chat, requesting that each family make their financial contribution promptly. 

Her issue was that she had a work trip booked at the same time, and she wouldn't be able to make the proposed dates. While she had informed them of this, they insisted that she should be able to move something around and that she should still contribute to financing it. She wondered if she was in the wrong for not wanting to pay.
