On December 26th, 2025, YouTuber and animator Rafael Andaya posted a teaser trailer to his channel for an upcoming animated pilot called Plantronika. The video description reads, "Join Butterfly, an ordinary girl in a galaxy filled with aliens, as she spreads joy across the far ends of space with her freakishly spherical animal companions. You never know what you might see." The video gained over 265,000 views in five months.
On May 10th, 2026, Rafael Andaya uploaded the pilot episode of Planetronika to YouTube, garnering over 170,000 views in four days. The pilot centers around a game of basketball between Butterfly and Freestyle.
Online Reactions
The pilot garnered largely positive reception from viewers, who praised its aesthetics and character designs. While some criticized the perceived sexualization of the protagonist, others praised it.
