Alex Kingston, Iain Glen, Mimi Keene and Arian Nik Join Ray Winstone in Prime Video Action Comedy Series ‘Danger Money’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Production has started on “Danger Money,” Prime Video‘s upcoming action-comedy series.

With filming now underway in Malta, Variety can reveal a new number of new additions to star alongside the previously announced Ray Winstone.

Alex Kingston (“A Discovery of Witches,” “Doctor Who”) and Iain Glen (“Game of Thrones,” “Jack Taylor”) have joined the series, as have rising stars Mimi Keene (“Sex Education,” “Towards Zero”) and Arian Nik (“Count Abdulla,” “Daddy Issues”).

Rounding out the cast are Kara Tointon (“The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping”), Sean Pertwee (“The Siege,” “Gotham”) and Oliver Maltman (“Red Eye,” “Operation Fourtune: Ruse de Guerre”, Lockerbie: A Search for Truth), who is also co-creator and a co-writer.

Written by David Crow and Maltman, “Danger Money” is being produced by Two Brothers Pictures (“The Assassin,” “The Tourist,” “Fleabag”) in association with All3Media International.

The six-part series sees Winstone play Razor, a former SAS operative haunted by a botched mission in the ‘90s that left his reputation in tatters and his best friend dead. Decades later atill plagued by guilt and desperate to rebuild a relationship with his daughter, he’s pulled back into the world that he’d left behind when an old friend (Pertwee) resurfaces with a job too good to refuse.

Razor travels to Italy, only for events to spiral. Forced on the run with a motley crew made up of his impulsive “nephew’” Jamaal (Arian) and secretive tag-along Roxy (Kingston), he is thrust into a violent conspiracy involving hidden war spoils, corrupt institutions and powerful enemies determined to keep the past buried. Tointon will star as Maggie, Winstone’s onscreen daughter, Maltman as Maggie’s partner, Gavin, and Keene will star as the mysterious Ana, while Iain Glen plays a friend from Razor’s younger days.

“Roxy is a character who keeps you guessing,” said Kingston of her character. “She swings from intelligent and professional determination on the surface to emotional complexity beneath. The adventure she finds herself on leads her to a greater, empathetic understanding of the human condition. The scripts balance action, humour and heart brilliantly, and getting to play opposite such an exceptional cast is really exciting.”

“Danger Money” is a Two Brothers Pictures (part of Banijay Entertainment) production, in association with All3Media International. It was co-created by Crow and Maltman, who serve as executive producers alongside Harry and Jack Williams, Sarah Hammond, Alex Mercer and Katie Churchill for Two Brothers. Carl Tibbetts will direct episodes 1-3, with Charles Martin directing episodes 4-6. Crow and Maltman are writing episodes 1, 2 and 6, Iain Hollands is writing episodes 3 and 4, as well as serving as a co-executive producer, and Ryan O’Sullivan and Matilda Wnek are writing episode 5. The producer is Mick Pantaleo and Aisha Bywaters serves as casting director. Halo Pictures, with support from the Maltese Film Commission, are the Maltese service company. All3Media International, part of media and entertainment group, Banijay Entertainment, handles global distribution for the series.
